When the yard released its first full-fiberglass model, the Viking 33 Convertible, in 1971, and the larger Viking 40 shortly after, interest in the yard and its motor yachts went through the roof. Viking Yachts was the best fishing and pleasure boat company at the time. In ten years, they sold more than 400 yachts.
With more than 4,000 boats delivered, Viking Yachts is the choice of many experienced sailors and tournament fishing champions. Part of the builder’s reputation comes from the fact that it makes 90 percent of its boats in-house. Aside from mechanical parts like engines, pumps, and entertainment systems, the talented team at the yard builds the rest of the yacht by hand, keeping the highest standards and quality. The company is owned and run by a family, and over the years it has kept improving its manufacturing and production lines. It now offers top-of-the-line convertibles, cruisers, and motor yachts. Viking Yachts can build more than 100 yachts a year at its facilities. It has five production lines with models that range in length from 42 feet to 90 feet. Viking is proud that each of their yachts reflects their commitment to and drive for innovative engineering and refined luxury. It is clear that their boats benefit from this built-in quality control advantage. During the building process, a team of experts checks each yacht carefully, paying attention to even the smallest details.
